Fish

I enjoy eating. It has made losing weight hard, but I've been watching what I eat. Today we decided to get some fish for dinner. We have been pretty tight on our budget, so we got a cheaper fish. I had never had Pollock before, but at less than $2 per lb, I was going to try it.

When we got home, I got out an oven bag and decided to cook it a way I'd not tried before. I put some lemon juice, butter, lemon pepper, pepper, and dill weed in the bag with the fish and shook it up. I then put it in the oven at 350 degrees until it was cooked. I'm not telling you how I did it so you can try it yourself, I'm telling you so you don't go through what I had to go through.

First, the fish was bland. All you could taste were the things I cooked it with. No flavor from the fish at all.
Second, the fish was rubbery. It really did feel like chewing on a rubber band.
Third, I cant sleep because it gave me the runs.

Now my stomach doesn't feel good, I cant sleep, I didn't get to enjoy the fish I thought I would and I still have 3/4 lb of the fish in the fridge. I don't know if the type of fish sucks, or if it was just the few I got that weren't good. I do know I'm not trying to cook that type myself again.

(I did find out that it is the type of fish that most fast food restaurants serve in their fish fillets)

There is nothing worse than splurging for something and then it isn't any good. Of course, that is what you get when you choose to splurge on fish. Yuck!!

Salmon is SO worth the extra cost. I dont think you can cook it wrong if you tried. I have it when I am looking for a special treat and it doesnt turn out right.

That is so sad. It is always disappointing to have the runs. Okay, I was going to say to buy something for yourself and not have it turn out, but everyone already said that and I wanted to be different!

Alas to be poor. You suffer on both ends. The going in isn't so good and the coming out is worse. Try frying on the stovetop coating the fish in a spicy floury coating. It should come out tasting a little better. I don't know what caused the runs so I don't know if I would eat the rest of the fish or not. Your call. By the way is the Jessica or Gordon? I am guessing Gordon because I don't think that Jessica likes fish at all.

I hate fish and so just the smell does that to me. Having the runs is a "bum"mer! Ha

Did you know that studies have indicated that diarrhea is actually a hereditary disease?

Yep… It runs in the jeans!

Sorry you feel bad. Next time we're together I'll take you out to a nice fish place that serves nice fish and good stakes.

Gordon, this wasn't a plastic fish from one of those crane games was it?

Barlow I laughed all night about your comment.

When I was about 10 and Mom was at her candle collecting height, I took a great big bite of a pear. I have never eaten pears or wax again.

holy cow, forgot all about mom's candle collection! I'm pretty sure I finished off the pear.
